At Oceantrax we work with a trusted network of experienced professional crew to deliver sailing yachts and motor yachts safely across the UK, Europe and further afield.

We are always interested in hearing from skilled yacht skippers and competent offshore crew who share our professional approach to yacht delivery, seamanship and vessel care.

Our deliveries range from short coastal passages to longer offshore crossings, including Mediterranean yacht deliveries, UK yacht transfers and occasional transatlantic passages.

The Qualities We Look For

• Reliable, professional and calm under pressure

• Comfortable sailing offshore and standing watch

• Experienced in handling modern cruising yachts and performance yachts

• Able to work as part of a small, professional crew

• Respectful of clients’ yachts and equipment

• Practical problem solvers with good seamanship

Many of our deliveries involve long  passages, watch systems and variable weather conditions, so confidence offshore is essential.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications

To join the Oceantrax delivery crew network, we typically look for:

• RYA Yachtmaster Offshore minimum for skippers

• RYA Day Skipper / Competent Crew or equivalent experience for crew.

• Offshore sailing experience

• Good knowledge of navigation, safety procedures and watchkeeping

• Valid passport and ability to travel within Europe

 

Additional experience that is particularly valuable includes:

• Ocean passages or transatlantic crossings

• Mechanical knowledge or marine engineering skills

• Experience with specialist vessels

• Previous professional yacht delivery experience

 

What to Expect From Yacht Delivery Work

 

Yacht delivery is demanding but rewarding work.

Our passages can involve:

• Long offshore passages

• Night sailing and watch rotations

• Weather routing and passage planning

• Vessel inspections and preparation

• Maintaining the yacht to a high professional standard

In return, you’ll gain valuable miles, work with experienced sailors and take part in some fantastic passages across the UK, Mediterranean and Atlantic routes.
